Mahabaleshwara Temple

Gokarna is a Hindu pilgrim center. The Mahabaleshwar Temple at Gokarna is considered to be almost of equal importance as Vishanath Temple of Varanasi.

The Mahabaleshwara is one of the major temple here. The deity here is two armed, standing, and atleast 1500 years old.

The Bhadrakali and Venkataramana temples, kotiteertha tank etc. are the few holy places here. Gokarna is also famous for its beautiful virgin beaches and breathtaking landscapes.

The place, according to the legend, is part of the land reclaimed by Parasurama.it has a temple much revered in Karnataka.


Mahabaleshwar is enriched with 30 exotic viewpoints that provide impressive admittance to the charming landscapes. Most of the points derive their names from some former British dignitary and are situated in the 10-kilometer radius of the bazaar in Mahabaleshwar. Some points can be reached by motorable roads, whereas other can be reached on foot.
