Panaji City

The capital of Goa lies on the banks of the Mandovi estuary, in the district of North Goa.Panaji has some beautiful Portuguese Baroque style buildings. The riverside too offers a fine view.

This city with beautiful and historic, red roofed houses, also boasts of many modern houses, with well laid gardens, marble statues and also road lined with Gulmohar and Acacia trees.

The Palace of Adilshah, the Sultan of Bijapur of 16th century is now one of the Government Buiding along a side of River.

After Liberation it is known as Secretariate building and is made a museum for tourists. it houses some of the prominent government offices and educational institutions.

Next to Secretariate is a bronz e Statue of Abbe Farria, is a Father of Hypnotism Panaji's famous fish and fruit market offers a visual impact in itself with fresh and colorful fishes caught by the fishermen from nearby villages being sold here right next to the sea.
As the Portuguese strengthened their hold over Goa, Panaji developed into a vibrant city bustling with commercial and tourism activities.

The Christian rulers built some of Goa's most majestic churches here.in the centre is Church Square, housing the Portuguese Our Lady of the immaculate Conception Church

Panaji is Goa's third largest city after Vasco and Madgaon. Major tourist spots include the Dona Paula beach, a bevy of ancient churches and the Braganza institute.
