Harnai Fort |
Harnai is a very quiet beach situated at a distance of about 200-km from Mumbai. It is gaining tourist importance day by day and is usually visited by people from Pune and Mumbai during the weekends. South of old harnai Fort, the palm-fringed beach of Murud is famous for its clean, white sands and safe waters. |
Harnai port is the main fishing village. Every evening hundreds of fishing boats come back after fishing and gather to auction their catch. The fish auction is the essential trade step between fish landings and the trade. |

Harnai houses four forts viz. Suvarnadurg, Kanakdurg, Goa Fort and Fategad. Suvarnadurg is a shore fort and surrounded by sea on all sides. It can be identified by its huge black stoned wall. Suvarnadurg fort and the beautiful sunset can be viewed from this wall.
