Kadri Manjunath Temple

Kadri Temple is situated 4 km from the city. This is one of the oldest temple in Mangalore said to be built during the 10th or 11th century,

It is a square temple located on the hill with  nine tanks surrounded by a garden. The speciality of the temple is that spring water flows out as a stream through an outlet known as Gomukha below the seat of idol of Lord Ganesh.

The Lokeshwara bronze statue of the Kadri Manjunatha Temple is tipped to be the best bronze statue in india.


Over the Kadri hills a park is situated called "Kadri Park", which is a home to a few wild animals. it is also known as "Deer park". Also in the same area a children's park is provided with a children's train. This place also hosts a Flower show organized by the Horticulture Department every year.

The idol of Lord Manjunathaswamy of the temple is called as oldest of the South indian temples.The Kadri Hill is famous for the 11th century Kadri Manjunatha Temple, with the surrounding tanks with natural springs and laterite caves, also knows as the Pandava Caves.
